In acnl there are rocks around your town. Each day a random rock will spit out bells if hit with shovel. The best way to do this is to surround the rocks with holes like this:

You can collect a lot of bells this way and can but them in the bank to spend on cloths, furniture, or absorbent Tom Nook loans.
